Technology innovation in the fields of geology, geophysics, drilling and production
Abstract
Oil and gas exploration and production in our country have recently faced many difficulties for various reasons: the output of the major oil and gas fields are declining after a long period of exploitation, the undiscovered oil and gas potential is mainly situated in the deep-water, high-risk areas, requiring deep-water drilling technology and big investment, etc.The article summarises and evaluates a number of recent researches in the world in the fields of geology - geophysics, drilling and production, thereby proposing some solutions for further effective petroleum exploration in Vietnam, especially targeting non-structural and unconventional fields belonging to the stratigraphic formations and areas that have not received much attention so far.
