Abstract

Fitness for service assessment of damaged equipment and pipeline is an approach used to evaluate the integrity and fitness for operation of an in-service component and serves as the basis to make decisions of follow-on, repair or replacement of equipment and pipeline. This paper presents the fitness for service assessment method with three levels of assessment (Levels 1, 2 and 3) in accordance with the API 579-1/ASME FFS-1 standard and a case study of fitness for service assessment for damaged LPG pipeline.
